Now that the weather is changing it is time for workout leggings. Where I live during the fall it gets kind of chilly, so the shorts get put away and the leggings come out. Now we will have some warm days in the 80s so I will wear shorts those days.
I went shopping the other day and picked up a couple more pair. I was going to get one capri and one pants. Well I have a short legs problem and all the pants were way too long. So I ended up just getting a couple pair of capris. I am 5’5” which is not that short, but the way my body is proportioned it does make it challenging to buy clothes. I have a longer torso, but short legs, I literally have to buy all my pants in a short because the regulars are a good 6 inches too long.
Here were my credentials for leggings. They have to be a little thicker. I don’t want to he working out and doing squats and they stretch out and you can see through them. The length is important to especially for the capris, I don’t want them to look like bants that are just a little to short. The pants I would live for them to be not too long, but I have yet to find a pair that isn’t. Most important is they have to be comfortable. I don’t want to workout in uncomfortable clothes. Right now brand doesn’t really matter, as I have some Fila, Nike, and Trek Gear, I would live to try Under Armour, but I just don’t want to spend the money on them.
FILA Capris: I really like these, they hand many different colors. I picked the navy blue ones with Pink, Black White and Blue multi-colored design down the side. These capris are midrise which I like as I don’t have to worry about them falling down. I like that the fabric is thicker, so we are able to do squats in them without showing our butt. The length is pretty good on me, a little long but not too bad, I can deal with it.
The only thing I don’t like is the waist band is pretty stiff so it doesn’t really stretch to much. Which can be a good thing that way they won’t stretch and fall down. It is also a bad thing well to me because I feel like its digging into my waist. I didn’t really notice it in tbe store, but the more I wear them, the more I notice it. They are still wearable and maybe it will loosen up some when I break them in more.
Trek Gear: I think this brand maybe only sold at Kohl’s, well that’s the only place I have seen them. These are also midrise, navy blue with blue, orange and white striping on the waistband and a little on the pants. These capris also have some mesh on the bottoms of the legs and goes up to the knees. Again the fabric on these are a little thicker. I haven’t had and Trek Gear clothes before and so far they are pretty good. I have only done light workouts in them as my workout schedule was pretty light last week, I am going to hit the workouts hard this week, so I will keep you updated on how they hold up. These are a little on the longer side so I pull them up just a little.
Nike: These are red pants with the Nike swoosh on the calf, the waistband is black. These are pretty comfortable and easy to workout in. As I said earlier pants are so long and so are these. They cover half to 3/4ths my foot, but it is just something I deal with. These are not as thick as I like them. I think they are fine during workouts but just to be on the safe side I wear shorts under them.
Overall I like all three brands of these workout capris. I would like to add more to my collection eventually and would go back to these. I will also try out some more in different brands as well to see if I like them as well. If anyone knows of a brand or where to get workout leggings that are made for shorter people like me, please leave it in the comments.
