So each week I am going to try and do an update on how my week went. This update is going to help keep me accountable for the work that I have done. This will follow my work outs and how I am eating. So I decided to start my journey last week because my schedule finally settled down. This way I can get into a routine before it picks back up again.
So my plan was to join our local gym to help me with my Journey. Well we can not get a hold of the owner. With many attempts through their site and Facebook with no avail. So I am going to be doing most of my working out at home, as we continue to try, and get into the gym. It makes it more challenging as it is harder for me to get motivated.
working out: I didn’t do very well as I was finishing up editing pictures so that took a lot of my time. I was able to go walk around the high school track other than that I didn’t get much done, I did make a plan about when I want to do Cardio, legs, butt, and upper body. I am going to try and do most of my working out Monday through Thursday. As I am busy Friday Saturday and Sunday with football. I am going to try and get some workouts in on the weekend. I did buy and jump rope a speed one. I was going to get a weighted one but thought I should get used to doing a jump rope workout first. So right now jump roping is going to be my cardio, at some point I am going to start running as well.
I have some resistant bands but I bought some circle ones. I have a few ideas on what I am going to do with them. Like squats, lunges, arms, and abs. These are going to being my strength training. In the near future if I still can’t get to the gym I will buy some weights.
Dieting: I haven’t really found a diet that I want to do. I went back and forth on weather I was going to go dairy and/or gluten free. Well I like my dairy and breads and pasta. So I have decided to not completely eliminate them, but to limit my intake. I also want to not necessarily diet but to make healthier food decisions. So last week I have been eating smaller portions. I feel like I eat way to much at each of my meals and snacking in between. So I am eat smaller portions, as well as trying really hard to not snack as much. I am a bored eater and I am trying really hard not to do that.
I get up at 5:30 am and eat a small breakfast, usually cereal (Apple Cinnamon Cheerios) with no milk. Some times I will have a small glass of 2% Chocolate Milk sometime I will just have some water. Then I am hungry again by 8:30 to 9:00 so I will have a whole grain granola bar. Then will eat lunch at 11:00 am. So during the day at work I do pretty good. It’s after I get home is when the wheels fall off. I have a small snack when I get home but have a bad habit of snacking until super. Then eat a big dinner. So I have been trying really hard to stop all the snacking.
So I am just beginning and have a ways to go, but this is a marathon not a sprint! I like that I am already really thinking about the foods I put into my body. My brain is going to taking some training as well, that way this will all come more natural and I won’t really have to think so much about it.
